Maintains generator at rated speed
Load Test on a D.C. Shunt Generator
Build the shunt-field and load circuits, then determine external characteristics and voltage regulation.
Study the complete circuit before wiring
Trace each numbered conductor on the diagram.
2Match the apparatus and terminal labels.
3Build the circuit yourself on the next screen.
4Check the circuit before switching ON.
Symbols are arranged as in a laboratory circuit diagram. Match the terminal names with the connection schedule below before wiring the virtual bench.

These terminals may be joined in any equivalent terminal-to-terminal order.
The field winding is connected across the generator terminals. Terminal voltage falls with load because of armature resistance and armature reaction.
Keep the load OFF initially. Never open the shunt-field circuit while the generator is running.
